How The iNUA Collection Celebrated the 2026 World Cup
Match days, good food and plenty to talk about across Ireland
From 11 June to 19 July 2026, the FIFA World Cup gave football fans another reason to gather, and across The iNUA Collection, bars and restaurants joined the occasion with live match screenings, dedicated menus and their own take on match day.
Although Ireland wasn’t competing in the tournament, that did little to quieten the conversation. From the banks of the River Shannon in Athlone to Belfast, Cork, Limerick, Sligo and beyond, guests gathered around the big screen for five weeks of football, food and the sort of predictions that became less reliable as the tournament went on. It was a summer that showed what a good match day is really about: having somewhere comfortable to settle in, something good on the table and the right people beside you.
World Cup Match Days Across Ireland
Each participating hotel gave the tournament a local identity rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
At Radisson Blu Hotel Athlone, Marina Club Kicks brought the football to the banks of the River Shannon, while POMO Match Club at voco® Belfast became the hotel’s home for World Cup fixtures.
In Cork, Limerick and Sligo, Allez Les BLU brought match-day screenings to the three Radisson Blu hotels. Elsewhere, guests joined the Leixlip Fanzone at Springfield Hotel, Farney Fanzone at Hillgrove Hotel & Spa in Monaghan, World Cup at The Court at Tullamore Court Hotel, and match days at Colgan’s Gastro Pub at Muckross Park Hotel & Spa in Killarney.
Different names, different settings, and different crowds, but the same reason for getting together: to enjoy the match with good food and good company.
More Than a Place to Watch the Match
The World Cup may have finished, but the places that hosted those summer match days haven’t gone anywhere.
Across The iNUA Collection, restaurants, bars and gastro pubs continue to offer their own distinct dining experiences, shaped by their locations and the people who visit them.
There are riverside drinks at The Marina Club in Athlone, relaxed dining in PK’s Bar in Monaghan, food and drinks at POMO in Belfast, and gastro-pub favourites at Colgan’s in Killarney National Park, alongside restaurants and bars in Cork, Limerick, Sligo, Kilkenny and across the wider collection. So while the final whistle has sounded on the 2026 World Cup, there are still plenty of reasons to gather around a table.
